Karen Blankenship, Executive Director/CPO
![]() Since 2004, Karen Blankenship has been the Executive Director/Chief Professional Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of York County. Blankenship received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, with a double major in music (voice) and mass communications.
A native of Florence, SC, she brings over 15 years’ experience as a non-profit director to the Boys & Girls Clubs of York County and is the 2006 recipient of the J. Richard Ullom Rookie of the Year Award from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America – Southeast division. She is active at the local and regional levels by serving as a member of the United Way of York County’s Community Needs Assessment Impact Team, as a Commissioner on the City of Rock Hill’s Commission for Children and Youth and is a member of the SC Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs.
Karen is a 2007 graduate of the American Leadership Forum – Charlotte Chapter, Class 7. She resides in Rock Hill with her husband, Wally Blankenship, and daughter, Renee.
